C.A.T. theory methodology – one idea

Here is an idea I am trying with my Grade 10’s and 11’s.

Instead of me presenting the content and information on a particular topic (theory!), I am getting them to research it and present it to me! The learners have to go and find information (they can use their textbook but should also be encouraged to access online information and videos) and then, using Microsoft Sway, create an online presentation covering the various concepts in that module.

They are simple tasks but really require the learners to THINK! I strongly discourage “copy and paste” presentation. The learners are also given a rubric in advance to see what is required and expected. The end product should be two-fold: A better understanding of the theoretical concepts being taught and also a resource that they have all created together to help them revise for exam time.
